Steam Generator Irons have seperate thermostats for the steam boiler and iron soleplate, so you can reduce the iron soleplate temperature, without losing any steam from the boiler. This allows you to steam iron delicate or synthetic fabrics without fear of scorching, burning or melting.

is the difference between the gravity fed iron and the steam generating
iron?

ADJUSTABLE ON STEAM GENERATOR IRONS, EVEN THOUGH THE STEAM SOURCE STAYS
THE SAME TEMPERATURE. GRAVITY FEED IRONS
CAN COOL DOWN QUICKER. WITH STEAM GENERATOR
IRONS YOU HAVE STEAM GOING INTO THE IRON, WHEREAS WITH GRAVITY FEED YOU
HAVE COLD WATER GOING INTO THE STEAM CHAMBER OF THE IRON.
(Q)What is dry steam?
(A)THE HIGHER THE TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE OF THE STEAM
GENERATING BOILER, THE LESS HUMIDITY IS IN THE STEAM.
Note: Steam generator irons are meant to rest on the silicone pad of their ironing stations (boiler unit) in the horizontal position, not on the ironing board in vertical position. Reliable ironing stations have silicon pad iron rests that can be remove from the ironing station and used on the ironing board as a horizontal iron rest. Or, ironing boards with a tray at the end of the ironing board are used to position the ironing station so that the hose will reach to the other end of the ironing board. |
